Special Education Teacher

This is a full-time, salaried teaching position that follows a 10-month school calendar (plus Extended School Year), located in Etna, PA.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a Special Education Teacher in a specialized classroom (preschool through late elementary options)
  • Implement behavior-analytic teaching strategies during natural play and daily routines
  • Collect and analyze data related to IEP goals and student progress
  • Collaborate closely with classroom assistants and clinical team members
  • Support classroom setup, materials organization, and documentation
  • Communicate regularly with families
  • Assist with ESY programming and school-year preparation
  • You’ll gain real-world experience in:
  • Applied behavior analysis (ABA)
  • IEP implementation and progress monitoring
  • Assessment and data-driven instruction
  • Classroom management within a therapeutic model
  • State compliance and educational documentation

Schedule & Benefits

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:50 AM – 4:00 PM
(Occasional after-school events, open houses, or parent meetings)

🎓 Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree Required in a related field such as:

Special Education

Early Childhood Education

Child Development

Child Psychology

Exceptional Children

Language Development

Marriage & Family Studies

Preferred (but not required for new grads):

PA Special Education N-12 or PreK-8 Certification

PA Private Special Education Certificate

1 year of teaching or ABA experience

Required Clearances:

PA State Police

PA Child Abuse

FBI Fingerprints

Mandated Reporter Training
