Part Time IT Support Specialist
Acts Housing is looking for a part time IT Support Specialist to provide hands-on technical support and operational assistance to staff across the organization. This role is responsible for troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues, supporting day-to-day IT operations, and assisting with system maintenance, upgrades, and user support. This position plays a critical role in maintaining reliable, secure, and efficient technology services in a mission-driven environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide frontline technical support to end users via phone, email, and in person.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computers, mobile devices, printers, and related peripherals.
- Support core business systems including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, VoIP systems, and line-of-business applications.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including account provisioning, equipment setup, and access management.
- Perform system updates, patching, backups, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Assist with network support, including basic troubleshooting of switches, access points, and connectivity issues.
- Follow IT security policies and best practices to help maintain data security and compliance.
- Document procedures, technical solutions, and inventory updates for internal reference.
- Assist with special IT projects, deployments, and office technology initiatives as assigned.
- Provide basic training and guidance to staff on technology tools and best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree or coursework toward a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 1–3 years of experience providing technical support in a business or organizational environment preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, basic networking concepts, and endpoint management.
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware, software, printers, and connectivity issues.
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the IT team.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Work Schedule
- Part-time position, approximately 15–25 hours per week (flexible scheduling available based on organizational needs).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in various physical environments, including office spaces and data centers.
