About the Role
We are looking for a technical designer to develop repeatable, comfortable, durable ways to affix a thin electronic display module to clothing & apparel. The job will involve iterating, building samples, and documenting the best approach so others can reproduce it.
A key milestone is preparing prototypes and an attachment guide for Texworld NYC (Javits Center) in July 2026, where BLOO INK will exhibit for its second year.
What You’ll Do
- Propose and evaluate multiple attachment concepts
- Create prototype samples across a few garment types/fabrics showing the device mounted
- Specify materials and construction details
- Produce a lightweight “integration kit”
- Assist with preparing materials and presenting prototypes at Texworld NYC (July 2026)
What We’re Looking For
- Some hands-on experience in technical design, pattern making, sample making, or product development
- Comfortable working with physical constraints and iterating based on testing feedback
- Able to work independently and communicate clearly
- Familiarity with tech packs and interfacing with a manufacturer
