Title: ASMSU Director of Human Resources
Compensation: $14.00/hr, 16 hrs/week
Term of Office: Beginning the first day of Summer session 1 and ending the last day of Spring semester
Supervised by: Chief of Staff
Supervise: Assistant Director of Human Resources
Office Hours: 16 hours a week during the fall and spring semesters. In the Student Services Building or in another location necessary to carry out the goals and objectives of ASMSU as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates and facilitates both the interview and selection process for all compensated/non-compensated positions in the organization
Schedules selection and interview processes in accordance with timelines specified in the ASMSU Personnel Code and the ASMSU Constitutions and Codes in conjunction with the Chief of Staff
Oversees hiring and facilitates decision making processes for compensated positions as a non-voting member
Trains entire staff on appropriate and legal interviewing techniques and conduct
Maintains and updates a record of quality interview questions
Maintains an active recruitment plan for ASMSU
Recruit for ASMSU, including actively meeting with appropriate student associations, student groups and career fairs on campus.
Maintains a yearly updated and active list of students with interest in ASMSU involvement, including past applicants
Maintains a working knowledge of all positions, both compensated and not, and their term of office
Shall help facilitate exit interviews to all staff (term ending, firing, resignation) with the Chief of Staff
Attends and reports during and at the General Assembly meetings as needed
Serves as an ex-officio member of the Steering Committee
Organizes performance evaluations for the fall, and spring semesters
Ensures that all job descriptions are updated and approved by the appropriate committee or assembly
Oversees and retains paperwork in all disciplinary issues with ASMSU
Maintains ASMSU personnel archive for all past employees up to 4 years
Works with Controller on payroll related issues
Meets with RCL Editor in Chief to discuss hiring matters
Compiles biweekly time sheets for payroll and is responsible for submitting TPS reports
Requirements:
Maintain conduct and perform job responsibilities within guidelines and requirements of ASMSU
Knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and legal human resource practices at Federal and State level
Ability to organize and efficiently utilize human resources
Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner in both written and oral forms and in an orderly and timely manner
Ability to maintain professional conduct in dealing with others
Ability and willingness to train other members of ASMSU in appropriate interviewing skills
Ability to exhibit behavior and conduct reflecting the mission of ASMSU
