Call for Applications: NSA-Funded REU in Mathematical Sciences

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) invites applications to its National Security Agency (NSA)–funded Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in the mathematical sciences.

This program will support eight undergraduate researchers in an intensive, 8-week, full-time summer research experience, designed to provide participants with structured faculty mentoring, collaborative research training, and professional development.

Research projects will span several areas of current interest in the mathematical sciences, including p-adic dynamical systems, data-driven modeling of solar atmosphere heating using simulations and observational data, physics-informed neural networks, and discrete mathematics topics in graph theory, including optimization problems in threshold protocol games and zero forcing numbers of circulant graphs.
