Door-to-Door Sales Representative

A door-to-door pest control sales representative is responsible for generating new residential customers by prospecting neighborhoods, educating homeowners on pest-related risks, and selling recurring pest control service plans. This role combines direct sales, lead generation, territory management, and customer relationship building in a face-to-face environment.

 

Representatives work assigned neighborhoods daily, initiating conversations with homeowners to identify pest concerns such as ants, spiders, wasps, rodents, and seasonal infestations. They conduct brief needs assessments at the door, explain service offerings, outline treatment processes, and present pricing options. The goal is to convert conversations into signed service agreements, typically for quarterly or seasonal pest control programs.

 

Success in this role requires strong communication skills, resilience under rejection, objection handling ability, and a high level of self-discipline. Reps must maintain a professional appearance, comply with local solicitation laws, and accurately input contracts and customer information into company systems.

 

Top performers excel at building immediate rapport, creating urgency around pest prevention, and confidently overcoming common objections such as price, timing, or existing providers. The position is performance-based, often commission-driven, with earnings tied directly to production.
