Zoo Media is reimagining how young people learn, explore, and create through interactive digital experiences, educational simulations, and creative learning tools. From financial literacy games to immersive driving simulations and interactive storytelling platforms, our mission is to make learning intuitive, accessible, and engaging.

As a UI/UX Design Intern, you’ll help craft the user experience across Zoo Media’s digital ecosystem. Your work won’t just make things look good — it will make them feel good. You’ll design interfaces that guide learners, support creative exploration, and bring clarity to complex systems.

What You’ll Do

Design Intuitive, Engaging Interfaces

  • Collaborate with designers, artists, and developers to create UI layouts that support learning, creativity, and exploration.
  • Translate gameplay, educational goals, and user needs into clear, accessible interfaces.

Wireframing & Prototyping

  • Design wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using tools like Figma or Adobe XD.
  • Build mobile‑ready layouts, dashboard interfaces, and interactive screens for simulations and creative tools.

Implementation Support

  • Work with engineers to ensure UI is implemented accurately in Unity, Unreal, or web‑based environments.
  • Assist in refining UI elements for responsiveness, clarity, and performance.

User Feedback & Iteration

  • Analyze user feedback and behavior to refine interfaces for usability and flow.
  • Participate in user‑testing sessions and help identify opportunities for improvement.

AI‑Enhanced Design

  • Use AI tools to speed up prototyping, generate layout variations, and support A/B testing.
  • Explore how AI can predict user behavior and assist in real‑time UI adaptation.

You’ll Learn To

  • Apply design systems and UI style guides consistently across platforms.
  • Build accessibility into every design, especially for educational and simulation‑based users.
  • Understand user psychology and how it shapes interaction and decision‑making.
  • Streamline UI for mobile, desktop, and simulator hardware.
  • Collaborate in Agile development environments with cross‑functional teams.
  • Use AI tools to support UX research, layout planning, and rapid iteration.

Requirements

  • Strong interest in interface design, wireframing, or interactive user experience.
  • Familiarity with UI/UX tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or InVision.
  • Desire to work with game engines like Unity or Unreal.
  • Ability to think critically about layout, hierarchy, and user behavior.
  • Currently studying Graphic Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Game Design, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Availability for virtual meetings:
    • Mondays @ 9:00 AM MST
    • Wednesdays @ 10:00 AM MST
    • Fridays @ 8:00 AM MST
    • SkillBridge: Thursdays @ 9:00 AM MST

Bonus Skills (Not Required, But Valued)

  • Experience designing for games, mobile apps, or learning systems.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics, transitions, or UI animation.
  • Interest in gamified dashboards or performance‑tracking interfaces.
  • Exposure to interactive learning or creative digital platforms.
