The Role
As a Kitchen & Bath Designer, you'll guide clients from initial consultation through project completion, creating functional and inspiring spaces that reflect their lifestyle and vision. This is a commission-based sales and design position ideal for an experienced professional who thrives in a client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct client consultations in our showroom and in-home to uncover their vision, lifestyle needs, and budget
- Perform on-site measurements to obtain precise dimensions and site-specific details
- Create detailed floor plans, elevations, and cabinetry specifications using AutoCAD and renderings with SketchUp
- Develop appliance, plumbing, and lighting specifications
- Generate accurate pricing using various vendor software programs
- Develop and present creative design concepts with clarity and confidence
- Guide clients through product selections including cabinetry, countertops, hardware, and finishes
- Manage timelines, budgets, and client expectations throughout the project lifecycle
- Build relationships with builders and design professionals through local networking
- Follow up on leads and quotes to maximize sales performance
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in kitchen and bath design and sales
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Strong expertise in design, estimating, and sales
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent math skills and ability to read construction drawings and appliance/plumbing specifications
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong listener and creative problem solver with a refined design aesthetic
- Self-starter who takes initiative and sees projects through from start to finish
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Kitchen & Bath Designer (CKBD) or NKBA certification
- Proficiency in SketchUp or other rendering software
- Deep knowledge of cabinetry lines and construction standards
- Design degree from a four-year college or university
