Campus Library Specialist
The Campus Library Specialist (CLS) coordinates daily operations of campus library circulation, including services such as technology device lending. Specialists oversee at least one functional area of the library, such as: course reserves, receiving and processing new materials and serials, stacks maintenance and inventory, or Federal Work Study student supervision. The CLS takes the lead in policy and procedure development, review, and improvement in their assigned area(s). The Campus Library Specialist directly supports the Library’s mission of fostering student success
The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide patron-focused customer service
- Use the Sierra integrated library system and other support systems to circulate materials
- Provide basic reference assistance and first line technical support to patrons
- Conduct stacks maintenance, inventory, and local campus processing of new library materials
- Implement and enforce library policies and procedures
- Collect and compile data and statistics to help inform library decisions
- Participate in Library or College committees and work groups
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level including but not limited to: preparing displays, planning events, hiring, training, and supervising student aides, preparing course reserve materials, and contributing to the Library’s social media presence and marketing efforts
