Job Title: Microbiology Technician
Pay: $25/hr

Job Overview: The Microbiology Technician performs microbiological analyses on raw materials, processed materials, finished ingredients, components, and finished stock. This role supports environmental monitoring, equipment testing, and compliance with cGMP standards to ensure product safety and quality.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, processed materials, finished ingredients, and finished stock.
Approve and release materials based on microbiological test results according to established procedures.
Communicate microbiological testing status and out-of-specification results to appropriate departments and supervisory personnel.
Conduct environmental monitoring, including sampling and testing of:
Ambient air
Compressed air
Process water
Perform microbiological testing of processing and packaging equipment (e.g., swabbing, sterility testing).
Prepare, sterilize, and test microbiological media to support all required testing.
Maintain and calibrate microbiological laboratory equipment in compliance with cGMP requirements.
Maintain accurate, complete, and cGMP-compliant laboratory notebooks, records, and logs.
Participate in routine auditing of facility records for cGMP compliance.
Support sampling of incoming raw materials when applicable.
Maintain retain samples and ensure proper storage in designated areas.
Assist in maintaining laboratory inventory and supplies.
Follow laboratory safety policies, proper aseptic techniques, and maintain good housekeeping.
Handle biohazardous waste and ensure proper disposal according to safety and environmental regulations.
Understand facility systems related to the control and release of quarantined materials.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related scientific field, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge & Skills
Working knowledge of microbiological principles, aseptic technique, and laboratory procedures.
Knowledge of cGMP requirements within a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
Strong analytical and observational skills.
Ability to accurately interpret microbiological data and report suspect findings.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to learn Lab, MRP, and Warehouse systems.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities under pressure.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including overtime as required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Professional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong interpersonal skills.
Commitment to required laboratory PPE and safety standards.
