ASL Instructor

Whizara is hiring passionate and reliable ASL Instructors to lead engaging after-school classes for K–12 students. This role is open to beginners of ASL as well as those with intermediate or advanced signing skills.

If you enjoy working with kids and want meaningful, flexible part-time work, this is a great opportunity. No formal teaching experience is required, and all curriculum and materials are fully provided.

About the Role

As an ASL Instructor at Whizara, you will introduce students to American Sign Language and Deaf culture through interactive, student-centered lessons. With a structured curriculum in place, you can focus on creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead interactive ASL lessons using Whizara’s provided curriculum
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and energetic learning environment
  • Adapt instruction for students across grades K–12
  • Keep students engaged, motivated, and excited to learn
  • Communicate professionally with school staff and parents
  • Provide clear and constructive feedback on student progress
  • Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to teach

Qualifications

  • Interest in ASL, communication, and education
  • Comfortable with basic, intermediate, or advanced ASL
  • Patient, responsible, and enthusiastic when working with children
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to commute to the Los Angeles location
  • Willingness to learn and grow as an instructor

Teaching or youth-related experience is a plus but not required.
