Staff Accountant

About the Role

We're seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. This role is designed for candidates with 1-2 years of professional accounting experience, with a strong preference for those coming from public accounting or audit backgrounds. You'll work closely with Senior Accountants on close processes, audit support, and compliance-driven initiatives that help ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in monthly close procedures, reconciliations, and balance sheet reviews

Manage and review credit card and marketing invoices

Track accrued liabilities and expense accounts

Support budget preparation, reporting, and variance analysis

Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audits

Assist with audit readiness, controls, and process improvement initiatives

Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with internal controls and company policies

Support accounting projects under the direction of Senior Accountants

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)

1-2 years of professional accounting experience (required)

Public accounting and/or audit experience strongly preferred

Solid understanding of accounting principles, including fixed assets, depreciation, and balance sheet accounts

Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis)

Experience working within established internal controls and compliance frameworks

Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Clear communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams

Prior exposure to ERP systems and audit support preferred
