Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Arizona.
Job Summary
This position creates, designs, and evaluates mechanical systems for the manufacturing department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create or modify 3D models and engineering drawings for the manufacturing department to ensure conformance with engineering specifications.
- Use computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create preliminary and detailed drawings for clients and proprietary products.
- Builds models and specify dimensions, materials, and procedures.
- Design and analyze components to improve performance and solve reoccurring problems/reduce cost.
- Provide and explain visual drawings to fabrication and electrical team to ensure set-up.
- Collaborate with engineers and peers to troubleshoot design issues and discrepancies.
- Document the mechanical aspects of our products and enhancements and ensure appropriate drawer filing.
- Create and update installation, assembly, and perform stress analysis.
- Liaison with production/fabrication team to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform inspection of finished goods produced and identify any gaps in usage and quality standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to use SolidWorks®.
- Ability to comprehend and follow directions.
- Knowledge of MSHA and OSHA.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Three years of working with CAD and two years of working directly with SolidWorks®.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged use of time that can exceed 6 hours.
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures including over 100 degrees and under 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to traverse uneven terrain, warm surfaces, and cold surfaces.
- Ability to squat, kneel, and lay prone for extended periods of time.
- Ability to travel for up to five days a week.
- Able to and comfortable working in confined spaces.
- Ability to wear a respirator according to OSHA stands.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds to pick up objects and tools.
- Ability to walk up and down ladders.
