Captive Insurance Companies Internship

Captive Insurance Companies Division (“Division”) purpose is to license and regulate captive insurance companies and to market and promote the state of North Carolina as a domicile of choice for captive insurance companies. The goal of the captive insurance program is to broaden the risk management options of businesses, to attract business to North Carolina, and to create a significant positive economic impact on the State of North Carolina. 

An intern will be able to assist with the following responsibilities:

·      Evaluation of CICD’s online filing system to provide comment for further enhancements and improvements to clarify and provide ease of use for the industry

·      Analysis of basic new applications and amended business plans of captive insurers, providing recommendations to the supervising analyst

·      Analysis of annual reports and audit reports of small pure or protected cell captives

·      Reconciliation of licensing information contained in SBS to tracking spreadsheets

·      Assist with documentation of receipt of annual filings due June 30th on tracking index and monitor/follow-up for filings due but not yet received
