ENTRANCE GATE ATTENDANT AT CHATFIELD STATE PARK, $18.00/HOUR: 

A Visitor Service Technician (VST) position that involves working in an entrance gate greeting visitors. Includes daily interaction with park visitors that requires effective communication and public relations skills. This is a non-law enforcement position. Duties and requirements include:

  • Provide information and assistance to visitors (distributes maps/ brochures, orients visitors to park facilities and amenities, promotes education programs, educates on State Park regulations, etc.)
  • Sell daily and annual parks passes 
  • Answer radio calls and give information to staff via radio
  • Operate a cash register and point of sale application
  • Collects revenue and balances shift box at end of each shift
  • May document and report visitor complaints
  • Cleaning and light maintenance duties of interior and exterior of entrance stations
  • May assist with special events or programs within the park
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and work well within a team
  • Other duties as assigned
