Position Summary
The Student IT Support Assistant provides entry-level administrative and technical support to the Senior IT Support Specialist for Software Licensing and Lifecycle. This role is designed for a student with limited prior experience and includes training to perform routine, well-defined tasks that help support campus software licensing, inventory, and deployment activities.

Training & Supervision
This position requires no advanced technical knowledge at hire. The student will receive on-the-job training and work under close supervision. Tasks will be clearly defined and appropriate to a student employee role.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining basic software inventory and licensing records
  • Collect, organize, and update usage or compliance data under supervision
  • Help process routine software requests and documentation
  • Support software deployment tasks following established procedures
  • Respond to basic inquiries or route requests to appropriate staff
  • Perform general administrative support related to software lifecycle activities

  • Basic computer and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and documented procedures
  • Willingness to learn SAM (Software Asset Management) and IT processes
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability
  • Professional communication and customer service skills
  • Background in technology (i.e. Microsoft office or Google suite)
