Student IT Support Assistant
Position Summary
The Student IT Support Assistant provides entry-level administrative and technical support to the Senior IT Support Specialist for Software Licensing and Lifecycle. This role is designed for a student with limited prior experience and includes training to perform routine, well-defined tasks that help support campus software licensing, inventory, and deployment activities.
Training & Supervision
This position requires no advanced technical knowledge at hire. The student will receive on-the-job training and work under close supervision. Tasks will be clearly defined and appropriate to a student employee role.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining basic software inventory and licensing records
- Collect, organize, and update usage or compliance data under supervision
- Help process routine software requests and documentation
- Support software deployment tasks following established procedures
- Respond to basic inquiries or route requests to appropriate staff
- Perform general administrative support related to software lifecycle activities

- Basic computer and organizational skills
- Ability to follow instructions and documented procedures
- Willingness to learn SAM (Software Asset Management) and IT processes
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Background in technology (i.e. Microsoft office or Google suite)
