Summer Day Camp Leader in Training (LIT) Coordinator
The Leader in Training (LIT) Coordinator leads and manages a 4-week leadership development program for rising high school freshmen and sophomores. This role is responsible for coordinating workforce readiness certifications, leadership training, community engagement experiences, and on-the-job shadowing opportunities.
The Coordinator serves as the primary facilitator and mentor, creating an engaging, supportive environment that helps teens build leadership skills, gain professional certifications, and develop real-world job readiness.
Responsibilities
Plan and implement a structured 4-week leadership development program
Facilitate Leadership 101 workshops and team-building activities
Coordinate CPR/First Aid, Food Handler’s certification, resume workshops, and mock interviews
Organize field trips to local nonprofit organizations
Coordinate participant shadowing with counselors and specialists
Supervise and mentor high school participants
Maintain communication with families and staff
Ensure a safe, positive, and professional program environment
Qualifications
Experience working with high school-aged youth
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Experience in program coordination or youth development preferred
Excellent communication and facilitation abilities
CPR/First Aid certified (or ability to obtain)
This is an in-person, hands-on role ideal for someone passionate about youth leadership development and workforce readiness.
