Project Engineer

Job Description – Project Engineer

 

A Project Engineer is responsible for assigned aspects of engineering projects. This position supports the engineering team by providing technical work product. Reports to an Engineering Supervisor.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Familiar with or able to learn current technologies used in engineering applications.
  • Responsible for some aspects of a project including documentation, programming, simulation, testing, and commissioning support.
  • Daily responsibilities include implementing solutions and supporting the project team objectives. 
  • I/O checkout with minimal supervision.
  • Read and modify system architecture, wiring and panel drawings.
  • PC hardware and software maintenance.
  • Basic panel design and specification of components.
  • Technical writing.
  • A thorough understanding of process.
  • The ability to learn and apply basic SCADA application development using InTouch, RSView, and other software toolsets.
  • Plans and coordinates parts of technical design and engineering implementation of project work. 
  • This position receives technical direction from a senior engineer.
  • Ability to interact with diverse personalities in a tactful, mature, and flexible manner. 
  • This person will be called upon to provide input and technical support on projects. 
  • Ability to work at client facilities under supervision. 
  • Adheres to good engineering practices and company standards.
  • Contributes to the development and delivery of detailed documentation.
  • Possesses a team player approach to project execution. 
  • Able to communicate well, both orally and in writing.
  • Resourceful and well organized. 
  • Performs other duties as required.

 

Experience and Education Requirements

  • A BS in technical field (Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering).
  • Experience in Biotech, Pharmaceutical or Specialty Chemical Industries is desired.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

 

Travel Requirements

  • This position requires approximately 30% travel, including air travel, across the US, and potentially international travel.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport required.
  • Cannot appear on the US FDA Debarred Individuals List.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Regular office environment with exposure to moderate noise.
  • Must be able to independently work in/navigate around construction sites, to include working at heights, climbing ladders, and lifting objects up to 50 pounds (10% of duties or less).
  • Must be able to independently work in/navigate around Biotech, Pharmaceutical, and Specialty Chemical manufacturing facilities, to include exposure to chemicals, strong smells, loud noises, extremes of temperature, and PPE.
  • Ability to travel (which may include driving for extended periods of time).
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, ability to input data into computer utilizing hands and fingers to tab to different fields to input data. 
  • Ability to answer telephone and talk and hear other party. 
  • Ability to view computer screen, close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
