Vaxxinova US is seeking an individual to join our team as a Manufacturing Technician on the Viral production team in Willmar, Minnesota.

About the role

 

As a key member of the viral department, the viral technician is responsible for the growth and processing of cells and virus used to create vaccines. This critical role will be engaged in production, process improvement, and the support functions necessary to ensure vaccine delivery to hundreds of customers throughout North America and the world.

 

Shift: Monday to Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm 

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Harvesting of chicken tissues and egg fluids and embryos for viral production
  • Planting, passing and maintaining immortal and primary cells
  • Growth and harvest of viral fluids for further processing
  • Disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of viral equipment
  • Preparation of liquid media used during viral process
  • Maintenance of a clean work environment to assure sterility
  • Maintenance of records associated with viral processes.  Records are kept manually.
  • Assisting with experimental design and technical transfer projects. Communicating project status with appropriate stakeholders across departments.
  • Researching new equipment and processes, applying information to job responsibilities.
  • Working on cross-departmental teams to implement novel processes.
  • Answering technical questions for other members in the department and for other departments.

 

Qualifications and Capabilities:

 

  • One (1) to Two (2) years in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Some mechanical problem-solving experience or aptitude.
  • Training in sterile aseptic processing is a huge plus.
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • High fluency in English
  • Natural abilities and strengths in multi-tasking, problem solving and prioritization. 
  • Perform work that requires being on your feet, twisting, turning, reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping and some lifting of equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt and react positively to changes in daily routine.

 

 

Experience/Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and at least 3 years of relevant work experience required.
  • Or A.S. degree or higher and at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
