Program Coordinator
The Program Coordinator is an independent contractor engaged to provide supplemental, non-clinical program education and technical support services in outpatient clinic settings. Individuals in this role may hold (not required) professional healthcare credentials (including Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse, or Registered Nurse); however, all services performed under this agreement are strictly non-clinical and do not constitute the practice of medicine or nursing.
Services are ancillary to the Company’s healthcare technology platform and are performed at the direction of the clinic and its clinical leadership, not as part of the Company’s core medical or clinical service delivery.
The Program Coordinator does not provide medical care, clinical assessments, care coordination, diagnosis, treatment, or clinical decision-making. Ideal candidate is a college student looking for work in a healthcare setting.
Program Participant Education & Technical Orientation (Non-Clinical)
- Provide in-person program education and technical orientation to program participants using clinic-approved materials
- Educate participants on device operation, application functionality, and program workflow
- Assist with technical setup, including device pairing, mobile application installation, and account access
- Respond to general, non-clinical questions regarding technology use and program participation
- Reinforce provider-approved instructions without interpretation, modification, or clinical judgment
Program & Clinic Workflow Support
- Support clinic staff with program education, technology orientation, and workflow understanding
- Help participants understand program expectations, engagement requirements, and non-clinical follow-up processes
- Identify and communicate operational issues or participation barriers to appropriate internal or clinic contacts
- Immediately escalate all clinical questions, adverse events, or patient concerns to the designated provider or licensed clinical contact
Insurance, Consent & Administrative Support (Non-Clinical)
- Provide general, high-level education regarding insurance concepts related to program participation (e.g., participation awareness and engagement requirements)
- Assist participants with reviewing and acknowledging consent forms supplied by the clinic or program
- Confirm completion of required administrative acknowledgements (e.g., consent receipt, enrollment confirmation)
- Does not provide billing advice, coverage determinations, eligibility assessments, or guarantees of payment
Data & Documentation Support
- Confirm completion of required program orientation steps in accordance with program guidelines
- Support accurate capture of onboarding status and participation information
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, state level privacy laws, and program privacy requirements
- Access Protected Health Information solely as necessary to perform assigned program education and technical orientation services and only as authorized by the clinic
Onsite Presence & Scheduling
- Coordinate onsite availability at client clinic locations based on program demand
- Anticipated onsite engagement is approximately 10–25 hours per week, depending on clinic needs
- Contractor retains discretion over the method, manner, and sequencing of services
- Contractor independently manages availability and scheduling in coordination with clinic requirements
Compliance & Professional Standards
- Operates as an independent contractor (1099) and not as an employee
- Retains responsibility for own taxes, insurance, licensure, certifications, credentials, and business expenses
- Supplies own tools, transportation, and equipment unless otherwise agreed in writing
- Does not practice medicine or nursing in this role, regardless of credentials held
- Does not diagnose, treat, prescribe, interpret medical data, or exercise clinical judgment
- Complies with:
- HIPAA and applicable state privacy laws
- Clinic onsite policies and access requirements
- Program education and escalation protocols
- Completes required HIPAA and program training prior to providing services - We can provide options or you can submit your own proof of completion
