Landscape Architect Internship

Location:  Kaysville or Salt Lake City, UT

The purpose of J-U-B ENGINEERS, Inc. (J-U-B) is “Helping Each Other Create Better Communities.”  Our landscape architects help with this purpose by working in a team environment to help clients see, explore, and create possibilities so that others feel empowered to enjoy life. J-U-B is seeking to hire an intern to work in our Kaysville or Salt Lake, UT offices.  This position is intended to be a summer internship position with the potential for growth into a full-time position as you gain knowledge through professional experience and individualized training. 

While supporting the needs of individual projects, this position will collaborate with our team of experienced landscape architects and landscape designers.  The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Working on municipal and institutional level projects including parks, trails, streetscapes, and campuses.
  • Participate in design charrettes for new projects and help develop concept plans.
  • Develop presentation graphics including iPad/digital rendering, 3D modeling, etc.
  • Production of construction documents: demolition plans, layout and dimension plans, construction detailing, planting plans, irrigation plans. 
  • Standard construction detail drafting and organization.

Qualifications:

  • Progress toward finishing/or already possess a BLA degree from an accredited program in Landscape Architecture
  • Design process exposure (concept through construction documentation)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD (Civil 3D experience is a plus)
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign 
  • Proficiency with SketchUp, Rhino, and Lumion
  • MS Office Products knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams)
  • Professional level communication skills (both speaking and writing)

Salary Range: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour, determined by experience and based on your year in college.
