Laboratory and Field Summer Intern

Job Duties:

Working in the Quality Assurance Division of the Drinking Water Operations Directorate, a Scientist, Water Quality Field Intern will participate in the water quality monitoring and support functions at the in the Catskill Watershed with Kingston Field Operations. 

The main project objectives for the intern will be to perform sample collection and field analysis and perform inventory in the laboratory.  Other tasks include general field support functions such as field sampling, sample run preparation, bottle preparation packing, equipment and instrument maintenance, data entry, data management, updating standard operating procedures, etc. 

 The candidate will be working predominately in an office although some field work may be required. Candidate will be responsible for adhering to and complying with all environmental, health and safety laws, Agency policies, rules, and regulations. 

  *The internship location will be in Kingston, NY, without ready access to mass transit options. * 

 In addition, summer intern will develop a final presentation to display assignments they have been involved with while working as an intern at the DEP Interns Closing Ceremony.
