Pharmacist - Inpatient

The Pharmacist works in collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy and, in accordance with standard procedures, compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies upon receipt of written prescriptions from physicians. The Pharmacist consults with and advises Administration, Medical Staff, and hospital staff on quality, regulatory, and risk-related matters within the organization, while also serving as a clinical consultant to the Medical Staff. In addition, this role assists the Director in coordinating and implementing pharmacy activities, interprets medication orders, and compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceutical preparations in compliance with legal, ethical, and professional standards of pharmacy practice. The Pharmacist also supervises technical support staff and contributes to clinical initiatives, quality management efforts, and educational programs.

Requirements include:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with Pharmacist degree
• Current state license in good standing
• BLS certification
• Working knowledge of OSHA, JCAHO, HCFA and state guidelines
