About Us

At Jen’s Camp, we empower kids ages 5-12  by giving them the freedom to choose activities that spark their interests and build confidence. Campers learn to explore, problem-solve, and grow independently in an intentionally designed environment. We have several areas of camp that are open simultaneously - stations include arts and crafts, engineering, stop motion animation, music, sewing, board games, a relaxation room, outdoor recreation and so much more!

Our spaces are intuitive by design, allowing campers to walk in and get started on their own while staff provide guidance, safety, and encouragement. Through thoughtful prep and organization, we create what we proudly call intentional calm—a setting where kids feel safe to create, try new things, and thrive emotionally, socially, and creatively.

We’re looking for organized, proactive leaders who value planning ahead and love supporting kids beyond just having fun. Our staff will manage their designated station, while balancing inventory, set-up, camper engagement, and emotional and physical safety/growth. From daily social-emotional check-ins to meaningful mentorship, our counselors play a key role in making each camper’s experience positive, empowering, and memorable.

Our biggest reward is watching camper’s self confidence grow as they successfully navigate tasks and learn independently.

What We’re Looking For In an Assistant Director
As an Assistant Director, you will be a key leadership presence on-site by overseeing the day-to-day operations of camp, ensuring all staff, stations, and activities are running smoothly. The Assistant Director is responsible for managing daily camper check-ins and/or check-outs, handling consistent, face-to-face communication with caregivers, helping build trust and clarity around each camper’s experience. This role also manages staff feedback, helps implement system and operational changes in real time, and works closely with Directors to understand the behind-the-scenes work and the “why” behind decisions. This position is designed for growth, offering hands-on leadership development, big-picture thinking, and experience in managing both people and systems while keeping camp running with intention, structure, and care.

Role Summary

  • Lead and maintain designated stations with safety, organization, and engagement
  • Encourage campers’ choice, creativity, and confidence while managing risk
  • Support campers’ emotional and physical well-being, including daily check-ins
  • Collaborate with Directors, learn the “why” behind decisions, and grow as a leader
  • Create calm while multitasking in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Guide staff in protocols and procedures for your designated areas
  • Implement and improve systems to maximize efficiency and engagement
