Criminal Defense Attorney/Associate

Position Overview: Bedi & Singer, LLP, a boutique federal and state criminal defense firm based in Chicago, is seeking an experienced associate attorney to join our litigation team. Our practice focuses on high-stakes federal criminal defense and white collar matters, including complex investigations, pre-indictment interventions, securities violations, wire fraud, healthcare fraud, and constitutional challenges. We handle sophisticated cases across multiple federal jurisdictions and represent corporate executives, professionals, and business leaders facing federal scrutiny. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of criminal defense or litigation experience, strong research and writing skills, and a commitment to aggressive advocacy on behalf of clients facing serious federal charges.

Responsibilities and Qualifications: The associate will work directly with firm partners on all aspects of federal criminal litigation, including motion practice, evidentiary hearings, discovery disputes, pretrial litigation, trial preparation, and appellate work. Responsibilities include drafting substantive motions, conducting legal research on complex constitutional and evidentiary issues, managing discovery in document-intensive cases, appearing in court for hearings and conferences, and developing case strategy in collaboration with senior attorneys. We seek candidates with exceptional legal writing abilities, meticulous attention to detail, strong courtroom presence, and the ability to handle multiple complex matters simultaneously. Federal court experience, familiarity with the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure, and admission to practice in the Northern District of Illinois (or eligibility for admission) are required.
