Laboratory and Field Summer Intern
Job Duties:
Working in the Drinking Water Operations Directorate, as a chemistry intern, they will participate in the water quality monitoring and support functions within the Kingston Lab Operations, located in Kingston NY.
The main project objectives for the intern will be to assist with a variety of laboratory analyses relating to water quality including lead and copper turbidities, specific conductance, pH, chlorophyll sample preparation, UV254, sample reception, cryptosporidium and giardia sample preparation, dishwashing and autoclaving sample bottles, bottle preparation and water sample collection.
Candidates are expected to comply with all environmental, health and safety laws, as well as agency policies.
In addition, the summer intern will develop a final presentation to display assignments they have been involved with while working as an intern at the DEP Interns Closing Ceremony.
The internship location will be in Kingston, NY, without ready access to mass transit options.
