Role Overview
Vault Studio is seeking a Junior Kitchen & Interior Designer to join our Santa Barbara showroom. This role focuses primarily on full kitchen design—including cabinetry, appliances, flooring, and layout—with additional exposure to bathrooms and bedroom/closet spaces.
This is a junior, growth-oriented position ideal for a designer early in their career who wants hands-on experience in a high-end showroom environment, working closely with senior designers while supporting client-facing design work and project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Client Experience & Showroom Support
- Support walk-in and appointment-based clients in the showroom alongside senior designers.
- Help deliver a polished, high-end client experience consistent with the Vault Studio brand.
- Assist in qualifying client needs and educating clients on available design services and products.
- Represent Vault Studio with professionalism in communication, appearance, and conduct.
- Maintain showroom visual standards, samples, and presentation materials.
Design & Documentation Support
- Assist senior designers with kitchen design layouts, cabinetry planning, appliance integration, and material selections.
- Support bathroom and closet/bedroom designs as part of whole-home projects.
- Create and revise drawings, layouts, finish schedules, and client presentation materials.
- Help prepare proposal packages, specification sheets, and design documentation.
- Participate in internal design reviews and implement feedback.
Product & Vendor Coordination
- Assist with product selection and specifications for:
- Cabinetry
- Countertops
- Flooring
- Appliances
- Hardware and accessories
- Request quotes and support pricing updates with vendors.
- Help ensure design details and specifications are accurate prior to ordering.
- Learn vendor offerings, lead times, and pricing structures.
Project & Installation Support
- Assist with project coordination as designs move into ordering and execution.
- Provide limited on-site support during deliveries or installations as needed.
- Support final styling and walkthroughs to ensure designs meet expectations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0–3 years of experience in residential design, kitchen design, or a high-end showroom/design firm.
- Foundational understanding of kitchen layouts, cabinetry systems, and residential interiors.
- Working knowledge of design software such as:
- AutoCAD, SketchUp, 2020, or similar
- Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign / Photoshop preferred)
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and basic office tools.

Physical & Practical Requirements
- Ability to move through the showroom and assist with samples/materials (up to ~25 lbs).
- Ability to stand and move throughout the showroom for extended periods.
- Ability to travel locally for site visits or installations as needed.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
