Film Distribution Operations Coordinator

About Jolt
Jolt is an innovative platform committed to showcasing new, significant films often missed by mainstream distribution networks. Our goal is to forge connections between filmmakers and worldwide audiences, ensuring creators maintain ownership and future monetization rights. With a focus on select films available each month and a revenue-sharing model, Jolt operates ad-free, emphasizing the value of content over quantity.

What We’re Looking For
Jolt is hiring a highly organized Film Operations Coordinator to support the execution of film launches on the platform. This is an entry-level to early-career role for someone who thrives in operations and coordination—building structure, tracking details, and keeping timelines and stakeholders aligned so launches move smoothly. You’ll help ensure each film’s marketing plan is executed by maintaining the operational systems that make the work scalable: trackers, assets, handoffs, and clear status visibility.

This is a strategy-oriented operations role: you’ll help translate high-level campaign goals into prioritized execution and surface patterns that improve how we support films over time, with a clear path to grow into greater ownership

Responsibilities
Program Planning and Execution

  • Maintain launch trackers and timelines that translate film marketing plans into clear tasks, owners, and deadlines.
  • Coordinate operational inputs that keep launches moving (asset intake, approvals, links, partner deliverables, internal handoffs).
  • Keep core documentation current (milestones, deliverables, status) and flag gaps, blockers, or shifting priorities early.
  • Support alignment by keeping execution focused on the highest-leverage work and ensuring information stays organized and accessible.

Team Coordination

  • Coordinate day-to-day follow-through across a multidisciplinary pod by tracking action items, clarifying next steps, and supporting timely completion of deliverables.
  • Partner with creative teams to coordinate versions, approvals, and delivery
timelines so outputs are ready when needed.
  • Maintain a clear meeting cadence (scheduling, agendas, notes, action items) so decisions translate into execution.

Stakeholder Management (Filmmaker-Facing Operations)

  • Serve as an operational point of contact for film teams—supporting asset requests, and status updates—while escalating strategic decisions and risks to the Film Operations & Execution Lead.
  • Prepare weekly status updates for internal stakeholders and film team check-ins (progress, upcoming milestones, open questions, blockers).

Risk Management (Operational)

  • Identify operational risks early (missing inputs, unclear ownership, timeline slips, dependency blockers) and support mitigation through proactive follow-up and clear communication.
  • Maintain a lightweight issue/risk log and ensure items are resolved or escalated to keep launches on track.

Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain templates, checklists, and onboarding documentation; propose
improvements that reduce friction and help the launch process scale across multiple films.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3 years in film/entertainment or adjacent creative ops (distribution, festivals, production/post, agency/management, marketing)—internships welcome.
  • Strong ops fundamentals: organized, deadline-driven, able to juggle multiple work-streams while keeping systems clean (trackers, timelines, docs, asset libraries).
  • Clear communicator; comfortable being filmmaker-facing on day-to-day needs.
  • Proficient with shared drives/asset management, spreadsheets/trackers,
    calendars, and PM tools (Asana/Sheets/Notion/Airtable).
  • Calm, solutions-minded, and adaptable as things change, assets arrive late, and priorities shift.
