Education and Outreach Intern
Job Summary
Sustainable Energy Fund (SEF) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support outreach and education initiatives that advance SEF’s mission. The intern will join our multi-disciplinary team and assist with the planning and implementation of educational programs and events, including support for SEF’s signature Energypath Conference and other community engagement initiatives.
This internship will provide hands-on experience in renewable energy education, nonprofit program development, and event planning. A primary focus of this role will be helping SEF design and launch a new, engaging field trip program for our Net Zero Energy building.
Essential Job Functions
The intern will support SEF staff in the following areas:
- Assist in designing a new field trip program for SEF’s Net Zero Energy building
- Collaborate with staff to develop hands-on educational activities and materials
- Conduct research to support SEF educational initiatives and outreach programs
- Support planning and implementation of programs such as the Energypath Conference and Makeover Contest
- Assist with marketing, communications, and program evaluation efforts
- Support staff during public events, workshops, and community activities
- Attend and participate in SEF staff meetings and external partner/client meetings
- Represent Sustainable Energy Fund in a positive, professional, and energetic manner
- Complete additional duties as assigned to support organizational priorities
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a college degree
- Interest in nonprofit work, education, marketing, sustainable energy and/or event planning
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with a high level of professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license required
