Pastoral/Student/Kids Ministry Intern
Student Intern Job Responsibilities
- Availability for 15-25 hours per week, specifically Wednesday nights 5-9pm and Sunday mornings 9-10am.
- Summer Camp Leader prep and attendance July 23-25th (all expenses paid)
- Optional Discipleship Conference in Chicago, IL June 22-27th (all expenses paid)
- Ability to co-lead/lead small groups, lead games, message prep
- Participate in weekly debriefs and training with mentor
- Bethesda Christian Church Sunday & Wednesday Services, and Young Adult activities required for the duration of internship that are not included in hours unless otherwise noted by mentor.
- Staff meetings & internship specific training on Mondays
- Create mini-mid and capstone projects
- Administrative and other duties as assigned
Learning Outcomes
- Spiritual Development - The intern will be able to design elements of an impactful sermon from both an epistle and narrative perspective.
- Ministry Competency - The intern will be able to design and organize a semester outline with a spiritual theme with a series of scriptures that use a variety of teaching methods that may include object lessons, visual aids, etc. that are developmentally appropriate.
- Character and Discipline - The intern will be able to give and receive feedback that is focused on increasing message impact filled with humility and truth.
- Teamwork and Unity - The intern will be able to lead a small group effectively by asking good questions that move students into self-reflection and a call to action in their lives.
Children's Ministry Job Description
- Availability for 10-20 hours per week, specifically Sunday mornings 8:45am-12pm and Wednesday nights 6:30-9pm.
- Availability to participate and serve in various children/family focused events (VBS week long camp for example).
- Ability to co-lead/lead small groups of children, lead games/activities, curriculum prep

Learning Outcomes
- Spiritual Development - The intern will understand and embrace a biblical worldview and strive to connect that to all aspects of their life. The intern will encourage and guide the children and fellow ministry workers to do the same.
- Ministry Competency - The intern will be able to set, prepare, and execute the various components of a children’s ministry curriculum, and be able to interact with and communicate biblical truths to children at various developmental stages.
- Character and Discipline – The intern will identify personal strengths and areas needing growth and periodically evaluate progress.
- Teamwork and Unity - The intern will be able to lead a group of children’s ministry staff preceding and through a Sunday morning program for kids.
