Transactional Liability Analyst
About the role
Icen Risk is seeking an Analyst to join our growing Transactional Liability team in New York. The team primarily underwrites Representation and Warranty Insurance for M&A transactions.
This is an entry-level role offering a unique opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to live M&A deals and the insurance underwriting process. You will work closely with senior underwriters to analyse transactions, review target company information, and support the evaluation of complex risks. The role is designed as a development pathway toward becoming an Underwriter.
Key responsibilities
- Research and analyse target companies, including financial statements, industry dynamics, and business profiles
- Review acquisition agreements and transaction documentation as part of the underwriting process
- Manage and organise a steady pipeline of deal submissions from insurance brokers
- Track deal activity and status, including quoted transactions and bound policies
- Assist in preparing non-binding indications, quotes, and policy documentation
- Support underwriters in risk assessment and deal evaluation
- Help coordinate and maintain relationships with brokers, legal advisers, and clients
- Contribute to internal reporting, tracking, and process improvement as the New York office continues to grow
Who We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Exposure to M&A, insurance, financial services, or advisory environments preferred but not required
- Strong analytical and research capabilities
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Intellectually curious and resourceful
- Self-starter who is comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, growing office
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Team-oriented with a strong willingness to learn and develop
What We Offer
- A base salary of USD 80,000 - 90,000, plus eligibility for annual bonus. Total compensation will be determined based on experience, education, and job-related factors
