Resident Support Coordinator-AmeriCorps VISTA

One-Year-Service Role Overview

The Resident Support Coordinator (RSC) will increase resident engagement and educational opportunities through strategic communications, program expansion, data tracking, resident leadership development, and event planning support. The RSC will strengthen the Hilliard Food Pantry Plus capacity to sustain meaningful community programs. 

  • Salary: AmeriCorps living allowance: Biweekly (~$950.00 pre-tax)
  • Housing Allowance: $600.00/month
  • Mileage: $0.55/mile
  • Status: Full time, minimum of 37.5-hours/week. Occasional evenings, weekends.
  • Benefits of VISTA Service: Healthcare, Childcare Cost, End of Service Award: Approximately $7,300 to pay for educational expenses OR $1,800 cash stipend
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): 10 sick days, 10 personal days and organization holidays
  • Eligibility: 18 years old, U.S. Citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or person legally residing in a state

Key Responsibilities

  • Resident Communication & Engagement – Create newsletters and flyers, establish a volunteer-led distribution system, and manage text messaging updates.
  • Educational Partnerships & Classes – Expand offerings, recruit instructors, and implement a plan to increase resident participation.
  • Program Impact Tracking – Collect, analyze, and report data on program outcomes and resident engagement.
  • Resident Voice & Leadership – Conduct surveys, form a resident committee, and share insights to inform programming.
  • Event Planning Systems – Develop event kits, recruit volunteers, and support the execution of recurring and special events.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Interest in community engagement, volunteer coordination, and program development
  • Computer savvy with the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Familiarity with Google Suite and Canva
  • Comfort with data tracking, analysis, and reporting
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required
