Architectural Designer
C. Lewis Tomaselli Architects is a well-established, family run, architectural firm that has served the Central New York region for more than 50 years. We provide thoughtful, high-quality architectural and construction services with a focus on residential and private commercial projects.
We are seeking a team-oriented Architectural Designer with at least two years hands-on experience preparing architectural construction documents. This role is collaborative and technical, offering meaningful involvement in projects from concept design through construction administration.
Responsibilities
Develop and produce architectural drawings from schematic design through detailed construction documents
Prepare plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and specification notes in coordination with project architects
Support coordination with engineers, consultants, contractors, and permitting agencies
Participate in field measurements, existing condition documentation, and construction site visits
Contribute to project organization, drawing standards, and office workflows
Required Skills & Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years experience preparing architectural construction documents (experience required; academic work alone is not sufficient)
Proficiency in Revit for drafting and modeling
Ability to read, interpret, and develop architectural drawings and building details
Strong communication, organization, and follow-through
Interest in learning our office standards, building methods, and project processes
Preferred
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Experience with residential or small commercial project types
Exposure to construction administration or field coordination
