Et Sal Interiors is a high-end residential design firm specializing in refined, livable luxury. We create intentional, elevated spaces for discerning clients who value expertise, structure, and timeless design.

We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Interior Design Intern (entry-level, recent graduate) who is ready to work at the level of a junior designer and grow within a fast-moving luxury design environment.

This is not a coffee-fetching internship. This is a production role with real responsibility.

Position Overview

The Interior Design Intern will support the Principal Designer in all phases of design development, documentation, and presentation. This role is hands-on and execution-focused, requiring strong technical skill, speed, and precision.

You will contribute directly to:

Program development

Space planning

CAD documentation

3D modeling and rendering

Material research

Design presentations

You will work at a junior-designer level while learning the operational discipline of a luxury firm.

Responsibilities

Program Development

Assist in client intake documentation

Translate client needs into functional space requirements

Develop detailed room-by-room program outlines

Support furniture and finish specifications

Technical Documentation

Draft floor plans, elevations, and sections in CAD

Assist in construction drawing sets

Create redline revisions

Prepare lighting plans and cabinetry elevations

Ensure drawings are clean, organized, and presentation-ready

3D Modeling & Rendering

Build accurate 3D models

Produce presentation-quality renderings

Apply correct materials and scale

Support visual storytelling through digital presentations

Design Development

Assist in material and finish research

Prepare concept boards and presentation layouts

Organize samples and specification binders

Maintain project documentation in shared drive

Administrative Support (Design-Focused)

Maintain drawing organization

Update project files

Assist with design meeting preparation

Support internal documentation

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design (or related field)

Proficiency in:

AutoCAD (required)

SketchUp or similar 3D software

Rendering software (Enscape, Lumion, V-Ray, etc.)

Adobe Creative Suite

Strong understanding of:

Scale and proportion

Space planning fundamentals

Material applications

Construction documentation basics

Ability to receive critique without defensiveness

High attention to detail

Strong organizational skills
