Project Manager

The University of North Alabama is accepting applications for the position of Project Manager; Capital, Renovation, and In-House Construction.  This position is responsible for the comprehensive management and oversight of the University’s capital construction, renovation, and in-house construction projects. This role leads projects from planning and design through construction and close-out, ensuring delivery that meets university standards and goals for quality, schedule, budget, safety, and regulatory compliance.  Primary responsibilities include selecting architect(s); preparing and negotiating contract documents and project specifications; coordinating construction activities with university departments, utilities, and governmental agencies; and preparing/justifying work programs/budgets. Additional duties include providing assistance in the preparation of comprehensive capital maintenance and capital outlay projects for each fiscal year and subsequent multi-year plans for submittal based on institutional priorities. Sponsorship is not available for this position. 

Minimum qualifications include: bachelor’s degree is required OR a minimum of ten years of experience that reflects progressive responsibility in construction, equipment, maintenance, and repair, A and E, or a related area is required; bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably mechanical engineering), architecture, building science, or another relevant field will be given preference; five years of experience in addition to the bachelor’s degree is required with ten preferred; CAD and/or BIM experience is preferred; skills in Microsoft Office, Adobe, Procore and/or other related software is preferred; and a current, valid driver’s license is required.
