Quality Engineering Intern

Cone Drive is looking for a Quality Engineering intern for summer 2026. 

Applicant Requirements: 

  • Strong foundational knowledge in mechanical engineering or similar degree paths 
  • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of an accredited engineering program 
  • Willingness to learn new skills 
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Ability to communicate on a professional level 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Electronic Inspection Data Management Rollout
    • Move from paper inspection report templates to digital utilizing specialized software
    • Identify and procure hardware to trial with inspectors
    • Transition legacy inspection templates to the latest software
  • Gage Management System Updating
    • Renaming of gages into a logical format that gives provides an intuitive approach that would include type and size in the convention
    • Apply new naming convention to the existing gages
    • Disposition unutilized gages from inventory
  • Digital Build Cards
    • Identify software that allows for transition of paper build cards to digital
    • Create first templates
    • Procure initial hardware
    • Execute trials to validate effectiveness and apply lessons learned to best support operational team member needs

 

This position may require access to United States export controlled technical data (“CTD”) and hardware under the Departments of US State (ITAR) and/or Commerce (EAR).  Eligible candidates are; US Citizens, Green Card holders, Asylees or others eligible to receive US export license authorizations. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US.
