Nurse Practitioner Validation Assistant

The School of Nursing is looking for current nurse practitioner nursing students (Masters level Nursing Students only)  who wish to expand their knowledge and gain experience as a Validation Assistant. Students must have completed NRS 6421-Advanced Health Assessment Class and Lab,  earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), possess a current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license, and maintain good academic standing. 

The role includes assisting faculty in validating undergraduate students in NRS 2014 (Health Assessment) and NRS 2024 (Fundamentals of Professional Nursing Practice). The validator must be comfortable in their skills to be able to validate students. Additionally, the validator must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills and deliver constructive feedback to students regarding their performance. Validators will work under the direction of the faculty of record (FOR) and lab director. Participation in this role does not satisfy the clinical hours requirement for NP board certification.
