Position Overview:
BWX Technologies, Barberton, OH location is looking for a Graphic Design Technician to join the team! This individual will utilize drafting knowledge efficiently in sketch and drawing creation. They will prepare all detailed drawings and simple assembly drawings and revisions with moderate supervision. In addition, they will utilize BWXT’s Computer Aided Design (CAD) System and provide necessary drawing related documentation (such as UGPC’s, IQE Data Dumps, Internal Drawing Approval and Release forms, etc.)
Your Day to Day as a Graphic Design Technician:
- Prepare detail drawings and simple assembly drawings while verifying dimension, fits, and tolerances.
- Utilize drafting knowledge efficiently in drawing and sketch creation.
- Prepare all detail drawings and simple assembly drawings and revisions with moderate supervision.
- Utilize BWXT’s Computer Aided Design (Siemens NX) system efficiently, after any initial training.
- Verify drawing accuracy concerning such items as dimensions, fits, and tolerances.
- Use Microsoft products efficiently.
- Have knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Knowledge of Model Based Design is not required but would be a plus.
- Work directly with other Engineering disciplines.
- Develop general knowledge of assigned components, as well as working knowledge of our Work Instructions and their relationship to NOG Administrative Procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a Mechanical Engineering or related Technology field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in design or testing environment preferred.
- Positive attitude and proactive approach to identifying and providing solutions to problems while maintaining project schedules.
- Ability to write clear, concise and accurate technical reports, procedures and other documentation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance.
