Job Title: Facilities Management Intern
Reports to: Building Engineer
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
Work with the Building Engineer to oversee a comprehensive facilities maintenance program that maintains the quality of all club facilities (excluding the golf course) in accordance with sound engineering practices. Hands on in day-to-day operations of department, including janitorial services, laundry services, event set-up, and the service and upkeep of all equipment and facilities.
Job Tasks/Duties
- Hands on in day-to-day cleanliness of the clubhouse. This includes working side by side with the laundry operation, janitorial staff,Men’s and Ladies’Locker Room attendants, houseman, and horticulture team to achieve a strong understanding of how all elements of the department work.
- Work with the Building Engineeron general maintenance and repair of the clubhouse, clubhouse grounds, Golf Shop and satellite buildings, including hands-on experience with minor repairs.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgeting of repairand maintenance, energyand capital expenditures.
- Assist in the maintenance and development of a thirty-year maintenance and capital improvement plan for all buildings(exterior and interior), including energy management and preventive maintenance programs.
- Assist in the administration and direction of major and minorrepairs and improvements.
- Work with the Building Engineerand Janitorial Lead on the purchasing of all goods and materials.
- Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of fire systems for all facilities.
- Assist in our pro-active maintenance schedules and record keepingof equipment and other systems in the building.
- Conduct daily facilities walkabouts and specificsite inspections on an as-neededbasis.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations
- Mechanically inclined with desire to learn about mechanical systems,plumbing, electrical, carpentry and refrigeration.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects, as necessary.
- Organizational abilities to help coordinate club projects and renovations.
- Awareness of occupational hazards and safety practices for self and others.
- Ability to performrequired role during emergencysituations.
Education and/or Experience
- Education in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, HVAC, plumbing or related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of progressive experience as a Maintenance Professional or related position preferred.
Compensation: $20-$24/hour DOE
