Metallurgical Engineer

Metallurgical & Materials Engineers

We are always interested in connecting with experienced Metallurgical and Materials Engineers to support a wide range of manufacturing, processing, and product development activities. These roles work closely with Operations, Quality, Sales, and customers to ensure product integrity, process consistency, and customer satisfaction.

While specific responsibilities vary by role and experience level, general duties may include:

General Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and metallurgical support for manufacturing and processing operations.
  • Review production data, process parameters, and quality metrics to ensure sound engineering practices.
  • Troubleshoot process, material, and product quality issues across manufacturing operations.
  • Support melting, casting, forging, heat treatment, remelting, and finishing activities as applicable.
  • Lead or support trials, continuous improvement initiatives, and process optimization efforts.
  • Investigate non-conforming material and customer issues using root-cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
  • Develop, maintain, and follow technical procedures, specifications, and quality documentation.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Sales, and customers to meet technical and business objectives.

Ideal Backgrounds May Include

  • Hands-on support of manufacturing or processing operations in a production environment.
  • Process control, optimization, and continuous improvement experience.
  • Product development or application support for engineered materials or alloys.
  • Technical support for customers, including data review, problem solving, and communication.
  • Experience driving improvements in yield, recovery, throughput, or process stability.
  • Shop-floor troubleshooting and working directly with operations teams.

Education & General Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related engineering discipline required.
  • Multiple experience levels considered (early-career through senior engineers).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and exercise independent technical judgment.
  • Data analysis or programming experience (e.g., Python, Excel, statistical tools) is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as needed.
