Data Analyst Intern
JOB SUMMARY
Using R, Python, and ArcGIS work with OKI Staff to build and clean data sets, including spatial data, in support of various transportation safety and planning projects. Catalogue and document sources and methodology for future updates. Conduct research on best practices as directed.
Essential Functions:
- Collect data from various sources using appropriate tools including APIs, scripting, or direct download.
- Organize complex data sets in a structured manner using spreadsheets, databases, or geodatabases as appropriate.
- Verify quality of completed data sets.
- Maintain detailed source and methodology documentation.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES)
- Currently pursuing a bachelor or master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, GIS, or other related majors.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Experience writing code in a scripting language (R or Python preferred)
- Previous related internship or work experience is helpful but not required.
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position.
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap is helpful but not required.
Length: May 26, 2026 – August 6, 2026
Hours: Flexible hours (37.5 hours per week)
Pay: $18/hour
