About the Role

We are hiring a Backend & AI Engineer with a strong startup mindset to help build the core intelligence and infrastructure behind Alpheva AI.

This is a high-ownership role. You will work directly with the founders, design core systems, and ship production features that users rely on daily. If you want structure, hand-holding, or slow decision-making, this is not the role. If you like building from scratch and owning outcomes, you will thrive.

What You Will Do

Design, build, and scale backend systems using Go and Python

Architect and maintain high-performance APIs and services

Build and optimize PostgreSQL databases including schema design, migrations, and performance tuning

Develop AI-powered systems using LLMs, tool-calling, and multi-step reasoning

Build and iterate on RAG pipelines including embeddings, vector stores, retrieval, and evaluation

Implement agent workflows and orchestration frameworks

Integrate external data sources and financial systems securely and reliably

Improve observability, reliability, and safety across AI and backend systems

Make technical decisions on architecture, tooling, and tradeoffs

Ship fast, learn fast, and iterate based on real user feedback

What We Are Looking For

2+ years of professional engineering experience, preferably at a startup

Strong backend experience with Go and Python

Solid understanding of API design, distributed systems, and data pipelines

Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL in production

Experience building or integrating AI/ML systems, especially LLM-based workflows

Familiarity with one or more of the following:

AI agents and tooling

RAG architectures

Vector databases

Model orchestration frameworks

Comfortable owning ambiguous problems end-to-end

High standards for code quality and system reliability

Builder mentality. You execute, not just discuss

Nice to Have

Experience in fintech or working with regulated data

ML engineering or applied AI experience

Cloud experience with AWS or GCP

Prior work on scalable SaaS or consumer products

Deep interest in financial systems and decision intelligence
