Homebased ABA Counselor

Homebased ABA Counselor-Consulting 

Location: Wareham, MA

Hours: Part time: 10-15 hours (afterschool) 

 

The ABA Counselor-Home is responsible for providing direct instruction/intervention to assigned clients in the clients’ home, structured classroom environment and in the afterschool program.  He or she will assist in developing teaching plans that are appropriate to the ages and populations served, specifically children and adolescents (ages 3-21 years) with emotional, developmental and/or behavioral needs.

 

Melmark New England serves children, adolescents and adults with autism spectrum disorders, acquired brain injury, neurological diseases and disorders, comorbid mental health disorders and severe challenging behaviors.  Populations served are intensely physically challenging.  The ABA Counselor-Home position requires that staff be aware that children who are served may exhibit aggressive and/or self-injurious behavior.  ABA Counselors – Home and Afterschool Programs are expected to implement highly technical clinical and teaching programs that require ABA Counselors – Home and Afterschool Programs to be constantly alert, attentive and ready to respond to children’s needs.
