Sales Development Intern

About the Role

This is a hands-on sales development internship at an early-stage fintech startup revolutionizing how financial service providers connect with high-intent prospects. You will work closely with the founder and contribute meaningfully to revenue-generating activities—ideal for someone eager to break into B2B fintech sales and business development.

 

Key Responsibilities

What You’ll Learn + Do

  • Prospect Research & List Building: Deep dive into buyer personas, segmenting financial institutions (Registered investment advisors - RIAs, Wealth Management firms, broker dealers, banks, and credit unions) to create high-quality lead lists.

 

  • Sales Content & Outreach: Draft email templates, LinkedIn messages, call scripts, and create outbound sequences in tools like Apollo.

 

  • Pipeline Execution: Collaborate on outreach execution, follow-ups, and booking meetings; join live prospect calls alongside the founder.
     
  • CRM & Funnel Optimization: Analyze CRM (e.g., Apollo, Notion) usage and propose process improvements for lead tracking, segmentation, and engagement.

     
  • Sales Analytics & Testing: A/B test sequences, monitor KPIs (opens, replies, conversions), and optimize based on results.

     
  • Enablement Content: Assist in case study development and client interview synthesis to create compelling sales assets.

     
  • Cross-functional Projects: Contribute to marketing and operations initiatives as needed, depending on skills and interest.

 

 

Who You Are

  • A self-starter who wants to learn sales strategy from the ground up

     
  • Clear communicator who is curious about behavioral finance and decision-making

     
  • Comfortable with experimentation, testing, and iterating quickly

     
  • Familiar with—or willing to learn—tools like Apollo, Notion, Canva, Intercom, and other sales and marketing software tools

     
  • Interested in fintech, data, or client experience innovation in financial services

 

 

Bonus Points

  • Experience with sales, prospecting, finding customer personas
  • Experience in fintech, B2B SaaS, or financial services marketing
  • Understanding of LinkedIn content formats and algorithms
  • Familiarity with B2B email campaigns and top-of-funnel engagement
