Your New Role
We have multiple Film & TV Development & Production internship opportunities available. By applying to this posting, you will be considered for multiple internship opportunities within this general area. These internships will be located in the LA area. The selected interns will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager’s in office schedule.

Your Role Accountabilities
- Read and evaluate incoming materials
- Provide book and script coverage on a wide range of material for potential projects
- Learning the essentials of being an entertainment assistant including rolling calls, scheduling, and any relative admin work
- Step in for Executive Assistants to schedule meetings, manage executives calendars, and offer departmental support
- Gain exposure to various creative materials throughout the film development & production process, including reading scripts, practicing script coverage, and watching dailies and/or rough cuts of our projects when possible as well as films from up-and-coming filmmakers
- Assist Production and Post-Production Assistants in everyday tasks such as production/post tracking, database management and file creation
- Perform research projects
- Create and maintain lists of available actors, writers, and directors for current and future projects
- Assist with the editing and creation of internal documents ad hoc
- Work with Production Coordinators and Managers on assignments as needed
- Track competitive projects
- Compile weekly newsletter of industry-relevant news, trends and film/TV trailers, and distribute it to executives and other employees across the Motion Pictures group
- Attend weekly department staff meetings
- Shadow development assistants on a weekly basis and learn entry-level administrative skills, with the potential to cover executive desks/phones as needed
- Listening in on calls, pitches, and staff meetings and take network notes
Qualifications & Experience
- Script coverage or book coverage experience
- Passion for film, television and the industry as a whole
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel), Google Docs, and Adobe PDFs
- Familiarity with macs, desk phones, and industry players
- Ability to multitask and handle competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to take initiative, learn quickly, and be proactive
- Ability to adapt and overcome
- Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
- Must be a rising Junior or rising Senior undergrad student (18 years or older)
- Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.
- Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program.
The Nice to Haves
- Previous internships in the entertainment industry preferred
- Knowledge of the film production process
- Experience with Airtable, Scenechronize and Smartsheet is a plus
What To Know Before Applying:
The duration of the summer program regardless of which start/end option is 11 weeks.
Program date options:
- Option 1: June 1st – August 14th
- Option 2: June 8th – August 21st
Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity
Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
Interviewing will take place from mid February through early-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
