Anthropology-Regenstein Pacific Collections / Conservation Internships

The Field Museum is pleased to announce two 2026 Regenstein Pacific Collections /Conservation Internships. These internships aim to provide each intern with experience in caring for organic social history material from the Pacific.

This is a paid internship for full-time (35 hours per week) for 12 weeks. The salary is $17.75/hr for undergraduates or $18.50/hr for masters students and recent graduates (six months minimum). Start and end dates are negotiable, but the internship must take place within the period April 1 to Sept 30.
Desired start date of May 18th, 2026.

The interns will work under the supervision of Chris Philipp (Collections Manager), JP Brown (Senior Conservator), Lauren Hancock (Head Registrar) and Julia Kennedy (Assistant Collections Manager). Their work will focus on housing, photography, transcribing of archival records and video and documenting Pacific collections.

Qualifications
Each internship is open to advanced undergraduates, recent graduates (six months or less), or graduate students currently studying conservation, anthropology, art history, museum studies, or a related field, and who have already demonstrated an interest in working in museums. Preference will be given to applicants showing an interest in following a career in museum collections. Previous experience of the following will be a plus, but are not essential: housing of organic materials, digital photography, cutting and drilling using portable power tools.
