CNN International Show Teams Internships: NYC - Summer 2026

Your New Role   

We have multiple CNN International Show Teams internship opportunities available. By applying to this posting, you will be considered for multiple internship opportunities within this general area. These internships will be located in the NYC. The selected interns will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager’s in office schedule.

Your Role Accountabilities 

These roles are 100% in-person and will be expected to work in-office 5 days per week.

  • Work alongside the show team on writing, guest-booking, field producing, and so much more
  • Strengthen research skills while contributing to the show
  • Participate in daily and planning meetings
  • Learn how to identify video and use the various CNN databases
  • Transcribe tape
  • Write for air and work with producers from story inception to finished package
  • Assist in basic administrative tasks
  • Pitch ideas to the team
  • Read books and prepare notes ahead of the team meetings
  • Research stories and guests for the show
  • Prepare for tapings
  • The internship provides a real look at program development and execution

 

Qualifications & Experience 

Ability to work in-office 5 days per week

  • Passion for international politics and economics and a general interest in TV broadcast
  • Passion for news stories and strong knowledge of news
  • Ability to pitch stories with an international lens
  • Understanding of business and/or business news
  • Self-motivated, ability to multitask, positive attitude, and ability to function well in a fast paced, high volume environment
  • Strong writing, research and communications skills
  • Must be willing to work late shifts or overnights as Intern's schedules will vary and shift throughout their internship, so they can participate in all aspects of the show
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)  
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior or Graduate student  (18 years or older)  
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended. 
  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program. 

 

What to know before applying: 

The duration of the program is 11 weeks  

Program dates: 

  • Option 1: June 1st  – August 14th  
  • Option 2: June 8th – August 21st  

Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a 100% in-person capacity

Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.  

Interviewing will take place from mid February  through early-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
