Fall 2026 Props Assistant WLS Level 3

I.     WLS Level: 3

 

II.    Description Of Duties For This Position:

  1. A.To shadow and learn from Prop Master; 
  2. B.Assist the Props Master in research for properties needs for all productions in consultation with the Scene Shop Supervisor and Director; 
  3. C.Help Prop Master collect properties for all productions. (find, build, borrow, locate).
  4. D.Keep properties storage room organized and cleaned at all times; 
  5. E.Assist the Props Master in Inventory of stored properties; 
  6. Have a basic operational knowledge of the machinery and tools located in the scenic shop. Be able to safely use the equipment.
  7. G.Have a basic operational knowledge of the machinery located in the costume studio. Be able to use the equipment safely.
  8. H.Assist the Props Master with the coordination of properties during production runs, including backstage.  
  9. Assist the Props Master with the cleaning and stories of properties during production runs and strike.  
  10. Participate in the technical runs of productions when needed or in the absence of the Props Master.

IV.  Qualifications Needed For This Position:

  1. General qualifications include the ability to operate any and all equipment in the scenic and costume studios.
  2. Ability to conduct research for theatrical productions. 
  3. Ability to communicate and demonstrate leadership while working collegially. 
  4. Skills and knowledge of theatrical properties practice.
  5. Ability to think creatively and frugally. 
  6. Physical mobility and manual dexterity.
  7. Proficient reading, writing, critical thinking skills. 
  8. Proficient computer skills. 
  9. Independence and reliability, dependability, confidentiality, honesty.
