POSITION TITLE:  Business Intelligence Summer Intern (Hybrid, Paid)

TEAM:  Analytics and Data Services

LOCATION:  Arlington, VA (Hybrid, 1-2 days per week in office)

STATUS:  Full-time, Summer 2026

MANAGER:  Sr. Manager, Business Intelligence

INTERNSHIP OBJECTIVES:

 

The Business Intelligence Intern will gain a foundational knowledge of how the Technology and Analytics Team functions within PBSd to support revenue growth by providing the data needed to inform business owner decisions. The Intern will gain a basic understanding of the top revenue producing lines of business and will deep dive into the performance data available for each team.  The Intern will then work closely with business owners and the business intelligence team to analyze data, create models to assist end user in decision making, and develop dashboards within Power BI for self-service reporting.  The primary goal of the internship will be to develop self-service reports within Power BI including working with data sets, developing dashboards, documenting processes for end users, formatting and standardizing dashboards for a consistent look and feel for the end user.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Pull, clean, and analyze data.
  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence team and stakeholders to determine reporting needs.
  • Develop self-service reports in Power BI utilizing existing data sets.  Identify additional data sets needed to further reporting.
  • Document process and workflows for creation of performance reports.
  • Create user training guides/documentation for reports.
  • Format and standardize dashboard visuals across existing and future reports.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Rising Junior or Senior currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (students who have graduated are not eligible)
  • Business, Economics, Data Analytics, Data Science, or similar major 
  • Previous Internship experience preferred
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS office applications, especially Power Point and Excel 
  • Working knowledge and understanding of digital platforms and collaboration tools (such as SharePoint, JIRA, Box, and Airtable)
  • Proficient in Power BI
