Job Title: Junior Engineer (Part-Time)

Schedule: Part-Time | Approximately 20 hours per week
Position Overview
Hanna Cylinders is seeking a motivated Part-Time Junior Engineer to support a focused time study initiative within our hydraulic manufacturing environment. This role will play a key part in analyzing labor processes, validating manufacturing assumptions, and helping ensure our ERP system accurately reflects quoted labor costs.
The Junior Engineer will work closely with our Engineering and Finance teams to observe shop-floor processes, collect and analyze time study data, and assist in translating findings into actionable updates within our ERP system. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer or engineering student looking to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing operations, process improvement, and cost analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct time studies across various hydraulic cylinder manufacturing operations
- Observe and document manufacturing processes, workflows, and labor inputs
- Collect, organize, and analyze labor time data to support accurate cost modeling
- Partner with Engineering to validate standard labor assumptions and routing times
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure labor standards align with quoted and actual costs
- Assist with updating and maintaining labor data within the ERP system
- Identify opportunities for process consistency, efficiency, and data accuracy
- Prepare summaries and basic reports of findings for Engineering and Finance leadership
Qualifications
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field preferred)
- Strong interest in manufacturing operations and process analysis
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, shop-floor environment
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; ERP experience is a plus but not required
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage tasks independently within a part-time schedule
